A 19 year old Pittsfield man was injured in a shooting Sunday night, although his injuries do not appear to be life threatening according to a report from The Berkshire Eagle. It's the latest incident of gun violence plaguing the city, and at the least the third involving a teenager.

According to the paper, Pittsfield Police responded to the area of Francis Avenue and Union Street to reports of gun shots at 7:12 p.m., alerted both by ShotSpotter technology as well as calls from nearby residents.

City Police said the victim who was shot in the leg, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center. An update on his condition was unavailable at this time. According to detectives, the victim was uncooperative with officers in aiding with the investigation which is still ongoing. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of firearms or drugs at the scene of the shooting which investigators believe occurred outside and and at this point is believed to be intentional.
