22nd Annual Winterfest Chowder Cook-Off Winners

Hundreds of hungry WinterFest fans swarmed downtown North Adams on Saturday to try samples of the nine competitors at this year’s annual Chowder Cook-off. 348 ballots were cast for “People’s Choice” favorites and write-ins for the “Only in North Adams” most unique chowder award.

According to North Adams Director of Community Events, Suzy Helme, voters were asked to rank their top 3 favorites, though many just picked one.

Competitors were awarded 3 points for every 1st place, 2 points for each 2nd place mark, and 1 point for every 3rd place. Coming in in First Place with 323 points was McCann Tech.

Ramuntos took second place with 310 points. And the Hub came in third Place with 303 total points. The Judges’ Choice winners were unanimous between the Judges, who “blind” tasted the samplings.

First place went to Ramunto’s Pizza & Pub with their corn chowder. McCann Tech took second place, and The Hub came in third. This year’s “Only in North Adams” people’s choice award goes to Ramunto’s Pizza and Pub for the second year in a row!
