There’s been a series of break ins on Main Street in North Adams recently.  Now North Adams Police are recommending downtown business owners to be on the alert, making sure to secure all their doors and that surveillance systems are active.  Busnissess and the public have been told that if you see something out of the ordinary, such as doors being tampered with, alert police and neighboring businesses.

According to iBerkshires.com, Moulton's Spectacle Shoppe was broken into Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning through the store's Main Street door with the burglar making off with cash and checks. Around 1 a.m. on Friday, an individual broke into the Registry of Motor Vehicles and Berkshire Photography & Printing in the Berkshire Plaza. Nothing was taken from the RMV but clothing was stolen from Berkshire Printing.

The suspect was described as a tall, thin black man, was wearing a parka with a furred-edge hood.  The break-ins are under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact North Adams Police at 413-662-3105, Ext. 4210.
