Berkshire County District Attorneys Office released a statement yesterday on the shooting on October Mountain early Tuesday Morning.

A Pittsfield man was arraigned Wednesday morning in Central Berkshire District Court on several charges.  19-year-old Kevin Nieves appeared before Judge Jacklyn Connly.

Nieves had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of armed assault with attempt to murder, one (1) count of illegal possession of a firearm, one (1) count of Kidnapping and one (1) count of Assault and battery.

Judge Connly ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail. Nieves has accrued three criminal cases against him since turning 18 last year.

The Berkshire Eagle Reports that Judge Jacklyn Connly revoked Nieve's bail on an open domestic violence case and ordered him held without bail for 120 days after the prosecution and defense agreed to stipulate to having him considered dangerous.

Nieves will be back in Court for a pretrial conference on September 20, 2018.

It is alleged that Nieves assaulted and shot a 19 year old man near Ashley Reservoir in Washington on August 21, 2018.

The victims' name or information has not been released. The Berkshire Eagle reports that the victim was taken to another hospital and that the name of the second hospital or his current condition has not been released.

The records in the case having been sealed as of Wednesday.
