The community asked and they shall receive.

The City of Pittsfield and its residents have been firmly behind the Pittsfield American Little League baseball team during their quest to get to the Little League World Series. After back-to-back victories to kick off the New England Regional tournament, they are set to face Coventry, RI on Wednesday afternoon.

With many in the community asking for a viewing party of some sort to cheer on the Pittsfield squad, The Beacon Cinema has stepped up to show the game free of charge.

Tickets will be presented starting at 3:30 p.m. and they will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. With limited seating in the theatre, you must be present in order to receive your ticket to watch the game.

Live 95.9 was made aware that local resident, and friend of the station, Matt Mellace approached Mayor Linda Tyer about the idea to put the wheels in motion.

Pittsfield American kicked off the New England Regional on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Goffstown, NH and followed it up with a 9-4 victory on Monday night over the team from Saco, ME. With a victory on Wednesday, Pittsfield will sit alone in the winner's bracket to await their opponent to advance to the Little League World Series.

Go get em' Pittsfield American! We are all behind you.
