Axl Rose Is Still Not a Fan of the Trump Administration
Axl Rose doesn't post on Twitter much, but when he does take to the social media service, it's often to weigh in on current events — and his most recent tweets continue that trend, with the Guns N' Roses frontman offering the latest in a series of criticisms against the Trump administration.
Before posting his latest thoughts, Rose hadn't added anything to his Twitter feed since Nov. 9, when he shared his sadness over the death of arranger, conductor and composer Paul Buckmaster, who worked on GNR's Chinese Democracy LP. He broke his hiatus to weigh in on the latest kerfuffle surrounding Trump's tenure in the White House — specifically, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders' comments regarding Fire and Fury, the new book from columnist Michael Wolff offering a behind-the-scenes chronicle of Trump's first year in office.
"It's disgraceful and laughable," Sanders retorted against the book's claim that Trump is unqualified to hold the highest office in the land. "If he was unfit, he probably wouldn't be sitting there, wouldn't have defeated the most qualified group of candidates the Republican Party has ever seen."
That provoked a response from Rose, who was inspired to share a pair of tweets with followers. "Along with several other condescending adjectives, the current WH has no room to call virtually anyone disgraceful," he wrote, adding, "The WH is the current U.S. gold standard of what can be considered disgraceful."
Rose's disdain for this administration is well known and has been publicly vented on a number of occasions, with particular ire reserved for attorney general Jeff Sessions and Vice President Mike Pence. Several months ago, Rose criticized Pence for leaving an NFL game after some players elected not to stand for the national anthem — an exit Rose deemed an empty "publicity stunt."
