Caution: Expect Delays and Parking Bans as Road Work continues this week…

Summer is a time for fixing and repairing.  Local cities, towns and the state has been busy all over the Berkshires fixing roads, cutting back foliage, repairing bridges and general maintenance needed to keep the public moving safely through the streets.

This week is no exception.  Anybody that travels from the east into the Berkshires has seen and sat in delayed traffic on the Mass Turnpike as recently as today as work continues day and night on improvement progress’ from bridge work to guardrail repair and replacement.  Some traffic delays can be expected west-bound on the pike, especially during heavy drive-times.

Through their Facebook page The City of Pittsfield announced a weeklong list of scheduled road work projects. Today through Friday you can expect workers with shovels, rakes and implements of destruction (Arlo not helping this time) working on improving conditions of city streets and structures.

Monday crews will l be cleaning up Dexter, Dillon and Cadwell roads and make some structure adjustments on Dalton Ave.

Tuesday, August 17^th the city will finish their work on Dalton and will also be working on Plumb Street.

Wednesday, August 18^th the city will continue work on Plum Street and add projects on Cadwell, Hawthorne Ave, Brenton Terrace and Oxford and Buel streets.

Thursday and Friday the 19^th and 20^th, paving begins on Dalton as structure work continues on Plum Street and shim work on Huron, Dexter and Dillon streets according to the Facebook post on the City of Pittsfield page.

On the above-named streets each day except for today (Monday) no on-street parking will be allowed between 6am and 6pm.  According to the post this schedule may changed based on weather conditions each day.
