Could It Work Here In The Berkshires? Amish Uber (Video)
He'll Give You a Cheap Ride in a Horse and Buggy
I gotta say, this sounds like it could fly here in the Berkshires, Maybe? This story made the national news this week. You have to give it up to this guy for his creativity and thinking of how to fit the latest trend into Amish life.
There's an Amish guy in Colon, in southwest Michigan, named Timothy Hochstedler. And he just launched something he's calling Amish Uber where he gives people rides in his horse and buggy for $5. For only $5 he takes you wherever you need to go, I don't think you can even take a taxi for that price nowadays.
But unlike Uber, you can't get Amish Uber with your cell phone, true Amish do not use cell phones and Timothy doesn't use one. To get a ride from him, you have to flag him down. So really, it's more like an Amish taxi but that doesn't have the same cool sound look calling it Amish Uber.
