The website Ultimate Classic Rock is reporting that when Kiss resume their End of the Road tour next year, the veteran rock band will feature David Lee Roth as its opening act.

Tickets are currently on sale for the shows, with the first leg running between Feb.1 and March 15, and a second going from from Aug. 28 until Oct. 2. Kiss previously said their last-ever show will be at an as-yet unannounced New York venue on July 17, 2021.

Roth was recently listed as performing at numerous dates on the tour via Live Nation's app, but there was no official announcement from either camp. A press release has now confirmed Roth's participation.

Roth is resuming his solo career more than four years after his last show with Van Halen, whom he rejoined in 2007. Prior to the Kiss dates, he'll begin a residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, which he'll continue after wrapping up the U.S. leg of the Kiss tour. He recently said that Van Halen were "finished" after a stadium tour planed for this past summer never materialized, though he refused to provide specific details.

"That's been canceled a number of times" he said. "And I think Van Halen's finished, and this [upcoming solo Las Vegas residency] is the next phase. I've inherited the band de facto — whatever that means. I think it means if you inherit it, carry this proudly. Van Halen isn't gonna be coming back in the fashion that you know. And that being said, Eddie's [Van Halen] got his own story to tell. Not mine to tell it."
