The Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity has put out the word that they are accepting applications for a home to be built in Williamstown.  The deadline for applications is Friday, October 22nd according to the press release.

The home to be built will be on the lot at 14 Maple Street in Williamstown.  Plans are for a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home.

To qualify you must...

1-currently be living in overcrowded or unsafe conditions or paying in excess of 50% of your household income on housing.

2-be able to pay a low-interest mortgage, including having a stable and adequate income within Habitat’s income limits, as well as having a low debt load and a positive credit rating.

3-be willing to partner with NBHfH, including completing 250 hours of sweat equity per adult family member on the home (or other Habitat projects).

The home will be available to families with incomes up to 60% of the area median income based on family size. The mortgage of the house will not be more than $147,000.
