Investigation In Shooting At October Mountain

One person was reported to have been seriously injured in a shooting early this morning in October Mountain State Forest, according to Massachusetts State Police.
News 10 in Albany is reporting that State Police responded around 1:00 a.m. to a reported shooting in a wooded area of New Lenox Road at Ashley Lake in Washington. Upon arrival, police found a young male with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. The assailant is believed to have fled the area.

Police did find a backpack at the location of the shooting, but that is all that is being said right now.

John Craig of WNYT Tweeted about 35 minutes ago. The Police had a red pick up truck towed.
