Summer rolls on, and August is peeking behind the curtain. It's hard to believe August is right around the corner, as this Saturday kicks off the first of the month.

Of course, with the arrival of August, many folks will have their minds shifting to back-to-school mode. The month of August is usually when back-to-school shopping is in full swing. This makes sense as many students throughout Massachusetts will be starting the new school year before August concludes.

While it's understandable that the focus for many soon will turn to back-to-school, it's also important to remember that we still have a decent amount of summer left. You don't want to shortchange yourself or your family by not having some summer fun. Whether you want to go to the lake, have an outdoor picnic, hit some waterslides and roller coasters, or capture an outdoor movie, etc, it's important you treat yourself and your family to some summer fun while you still can, especially if you haven't had much fun at this point. So many work so hard each day that oftentimes they forget or don't have time to include fun in their busy schedules.

One fun summer activity that's still taking place throughout Massachusetts is fireworks shows. If you haven't been able to attend a fireworks show this summer, you have a few options coming up this Friday and Saturday. According to mass.gov, here's where you can view some fireworks shows in Massachusetts this weekend.
