March is humming along, and here in Massachusetts, we've been treated to some warmer weather lately. We'll take what we can get as we inch closer and closer to Spring.

Before you know it, there will be leaves on the trees, homeowners will be mowing their lawns, and families will be enjoying outdoor barbecues. It's hard to believe that after a long and relentless winter in Massachusetts, we're finally going to be able to enjoy warm weather and the activities that come along with it.

Speaking of spring, Easter is less than a month away. The holiday will be a little on the later side this year as it falls on Sunday, April 5th. Nevertheless, if you're hosting the holiday at your home, it's never too early to start your preparations, especially if you are expecting many guests.

While you likely can't purchase perishable items right now, you can still purchase any canned or bagged items that may be part of the meal (check the expiration dates). If you use Easter-themed disposable dishes/plates and cutlery, you can certainly scoop those up from the store now. Also, if children are going to be part of your holiday gathering, you can get their Easter candy now. Of course, you'll want to work that out with the Easter Bunny.

If you procrastinate and wait until the last minute to buy your Easter items, you may be almost out of luck, as many stores will be closed on April 5. I say almost because Walmart will be open on Easter Sunday. Hours vary depending on location.

However,  there's no guarantee how well the stores will be stocked with Easter items on April 5, but at least you know that if you need to grab a regular everyday necessity on Easter Sunday, like bread or milk, you can take comfort in knowing Walmart will be open per usual.

Walmart has over 40 locations in Massachusetts, including Pittsfield, North Adams, Springfield, Worcester, and many more.
