They will be partying in the streets tonight in North Adams for the 24th Annual Downtown Celebration.   The party starts at 5:30pm till 9pm tonight.  According to North Adams Tourism post to the town’s Facebook page, tonight celebration will include live music, great food, games, shopping locally and “most importantly community pride” according to the post.

Town officials are warning those that do not feel well should stay home.  Although masks are not mandatory, they are “highly recommended.”  The City of North Adams recommends to the public that everyone should heed the advice of the CDC and follow public health best practices. Extra persuasions are in place.  Booths downtown have been set up with increased separation to allow for more expansive foot traffic for tonight’s celebration.

Some streets will be closed to vehicle traffic including; East and westbound lanes of Main Street between American Legion Drive and Church Street. Eagle Street between Center Street and Main Street. Ashland Street between Summer Street and Main Street. Holden Street between the parking lot entrance and Main Street.  North Church Street was converted to two way traffic and no parking will be allowed on that portion of street until 10 pm tonight.
