Interested in, or planning to host, an event in 2022 in the city of Pittsfield? Those who plan to do so are strongly encouraged to begin planning by applying for a special event permit sooner than later.

Information on the city’s special event permit application process, including how to apply, can be found by clicking the “Special Event Permit Application” tab on the home page of the city’s website, cityofpittsfield.org.

If a planned activity meets the special event definition, applicants must submit a completed special event permit application at least 45 days prior to the event, and no more than one year in advance of the proposed event date. The non-refundable application fee is $25.

“City staff have worked hard to streamline the special event website, making the process simple and easy to understand,” said Becky Manship, recreation and special events coordinator. “We’re always available to provide more details and answer questions about whether something is or is not a special event.”

For additional information or questions, please contact Manship at 413-499-9371.
