Mass Pike

Depending on the day and/or time you're traveling the Pike this week, you may be sure you'll run across guardrail construction or bridge work.

Weather has continued to push this project back.  Originally slated to pave Main Street in Lee yesterday, rain forced the project to be put on hold until after midnight tonight. There will be no overnight parking allowed downtown for the next couple of days as Palmer Paving will be paving Main Street and continuing work on Housatonic Street, Center Street, East Center Street and Columbia Street. .

Repair work on bridges and guardrails will resume on the Mass Pike starting Tuesday night.

All this week, construction at certain points of the Mass Pike will most certainly cause traffic delays in Lee, Otis, Becket, and Blandford.

Construction and bridge repair will take place all this week along the western end of I-90 affecting Becket, Otis, Blandford, and Russell.

A major accident on the Mass Turnpike in Becket on Friday claimed the life of a 69-year-old Western Mass man according to a report released by the Mass State Police.  According to the report Troopers from the Lee Barracks responded Friday afternoon at 3:22 to a crash on the east bound side of the Mass Pike involving a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles...

MassDOT is conducting bridge repair operations this week on the Mass Pike both eastbound and westbound, which will lead to lane closures.

Construction and milling work will take place this week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, along I-90 in Otis and Becket.

Next week the Mass Department of Transportation (DOT) will start replacing exit signs on the Mass Turnpike from the Exit 1-2-3 numbering system to the nationwide mile marker numbering system. Massachusetts is under a federal mandate to change the numbering system for all state highways...

Expect lane closures and reduced speeds if you take the Mass Pike this week between Lee and Blandford.
