The more contagious Delta variant is the dominant coronavirus strain here in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie baker announced today that Massachusetts will finally start getting more vaccines from the federal government according to an article posted at the nbcboston.com website. According to the post the governor said the supply of vaccines from the feds this week totaled 172,000 of first dose vaccines...

So for over the past three weeks, I have been trying to get Myself and my hubby Scott in a local place to get our vaccinations. I know that a lot of folks here in the Berkshires are in the same boat.

While Berkshire County waits on its first shipment of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines, which could arrive as soon as tomorrow, local and state health officials are stressing its overall effectiveness. Officials say that people should not to dwell on the comparison with the other vaccines.

Even as case numbers slowly start going down, the pandemic is still a potent threat but it looks like more vaccines will soon be coming to Massachusetts.

In the Berkshires, the majority of vaccinations are expected to take place at major clinics run by local public health officials, Berkshire Health Systems and Community Health Programs. Some people also have been able to receive vaccines at local pharmacies.

Big Y Pharmacy and Wellness Centers in Massachusetts has signed up to administer COVID-19 vaccines, once they are approved for use in the U.S.
