The smallest city in Massachusetts is becoming the bright star and taking center stage.  I am talking about my home, North Adams. if you have not been there lately there are so many wonderful things going on new hotels, businesses, lots of Art Galleries, FYI, there will be five galleries on Eagle Street, great shops Like Berkshire Emporium, and also super restaurants.

North Adams has families in mind too with lots of activities the whole family can enjoy, Also, talks of what to do with the Mohawk Theatre have started up with a lot of great ideas.  I would be remiss not to mention MASS MoCA and how popular they have become and the impact they have made on the community.

Even celebrities are looking to by a little piece of the town.

One of the best parts of North Adams is the people who live and work here to make this a better place to live.

I had the opportunity to speak with City Councilor Benjamin Lamb on Messenger Friday and he filled us in on some of the great upgrades that are happening on Eagle Street.

Councilor Benjamin Lamb said:

We have a bunch of things coming. The pre-existing pocket Park is getting a facelift and expanded to include a cobblestone central vein, a zoetrope interactive sculpture, a light art installation, raised beds and plantings.

All the businesses on the street that opted to participate are getting pedestrian facing brackets and signage.

He went on to say:

Two central medallions on pillars are being installed on the south end of the street. Trash and recycling cans are being installed along the street.

New benches have already arrived
And a new set of directional signage will be happening on the north end of the street

Well also have a mural going in on the north side of desperados along with cafe style string lights running along the brick way between desperados and eagle street artisan.

Drive down Eagle Street and take a look for yourself of all the changes going on.
