The non-stop thunderstorm activity and a Flash Flood Watch has forced the cancelation of tonight's "Party in the Park" with the Brave Brothers.  The Bros have been rescheduled and will play Party in the Park on July 22nd. Join us next Thursday night when Mother Nature has promised to deliver a picture-perfect night for Critical Mass live at Noel Field in North Adams for week two of the eight week Party in the Park Concert Series.

Here in the Berkshires, we’ve had our share of thunderstorms and downpours for well over a week.  The area hasn't even felt the effects of tropical storm Elsa which is still tracking up the coast heading towards the northeast.  Even after Elsa is well out to sea later tomorrow, the long-range forecast has no mention of sun through next Wednesday.

This afternoon we can expect thunderstorms on and off.  Rain could be heavy at times causing flooding in some areas.  The National Weather Service has posted a Flash Flood Watch until 8 p.m. tonight.  Below is the complete National Weather Service forecast.

Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 73. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 64. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday

Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 11am and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 77. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
