Breaking news from the City of Pittsfield and the Mayor's Office. Renowned photographer Gregory Crewdson, the popular American photographer that happens to have the eye of a filmmaker and that has been filming sections of Pittsfield lately, will finish his work this week.

Crewdson's final shoot is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6. According to the Mayor's Office, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Crewdson will reportedly be shooting at the intersection of Onota and Linden streets.

The City says there will be some intermittent traffic control throughout the day with a road closure at the Onota and Linden intersection from 4:30-6:30 p.m. City officials also say there will be various road closures in the following locations:

  • Linden Street at King Street
  • Linden Street just west of the Crossroads Cafe
  • Onota Street at Chestnut Street
  • Onota Street at Monroe Street.

Obviously, traffic will be affected during the previously mentioned time periods. Traffic will be routed through the neighborhood. Crewdson is known for several different series including Twilight, Dream House, and Natural Wonder.

Probably his most acclaimed series is called Beneath The Roses which took over a decade to complete. For more information, you can contact Roberta McCulloch-Dews, Director of Administrative Services and Public Information Officer, Mayor’s Office, 413-499-9322.
