A man in his 20s barricaded himself inside an Eleanor Road home in Pittsfield for several hours Tuesday afternoon before he was taken into custody by members of the Berkshire County Special Response Team.

The county's SWAT team is comprised of specially trained officers from local police departments and the county sheriff's office.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that police weren’t offering many details. They declined to identify the suspect because the charges the man faces are related to a domestic incident.
The street Eleanor and Roberta roads had been closed due to the situation opened back up about 7:15 p.m., residents were able to pass to get to their homes.
