Otis school cancels classes due to positive COVID.

Less than a week into the school year, a south county school has canceled classes due to confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The Farmington River Elementary School was closed as of today, Friday, September 3, after confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported within the school district and the community.

Police said Students and staff are awaiting COVID test results. It is unclear when the students will be able to return. The Farmington River Elementary School in Otis, with just over 100 children enrolled, was closed today closed while awaiting testing results of students and staff.

Also in Otis,  COVID-19 cases have increased after an Otis Fire Dept. Event. Officials with the Otis Fire Department say,

someone who attended the Fire Department Steak Roast along with two others with whom that person works have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus.
