After several delays, the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott finally opened for business last week in Williamstown.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that the 94-room facility at 430 Main Street had been scheduled to open in June, but was delayed by several construction setbacks and Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations.

Navin Shah, the owner of the Fairfield Inn project – and owner of Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge in Lenox and the Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington, had estimated the cost of the Fairfield Inn project at about $10 million to $12 million.

It is the second new hotel to open in Williamstown this year. The new $32 million Williams Inn opened in August after the former inn closed in July.
