Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency has announced that starting today individuals accompanying a 75+ resident to their vaccination appointment at a mass vaccination location may also make an appointment to be vaccinated at the same location on the same day.  The closest mass location to the Berkshires is at the Eastside Mall in Springfield.  However, according to the Berkshire Vaccination Collaboration website, their local Berkshire locations can also handle the additional caregiver appointments.  Click here for details.

Only one caregiver is allowed to schedule an appointment with each 75+ resident.  According to the Mass.Gov website an additional 53,000 appointments will be added to the mass vaccination locations this morning.  The process for booking a caregiver appointment is below.  You can also click here for additional information from the Mass.Gov website.

How to schedule a caregiver appointment for 75+ residents

Use the mass vaccination location’s scheduling tool to book a second appointment at the time or around the time of the 75+ resident’s appointment.

  • Vaccination locations will make every effort to take both individuals together to reduce wait time, even if their appointment times are not at the same time.
  • Caregivers will need to attest that they are accompanying a 75+ resident to be vaccinated.

Soon over 50,000 pharmacy appointments will be posted online by the end of this week.  Eligible individuals can click here for additional scheduling information
