According to an article in The Berkshire Eagle, Carr Hardware made a very generous donation of personal protective equipment (also known as PPE) to three Berkshire County School districts.  Carr Hardware raised donations for the PPE through their “Round-up for the Schools” Campaign.

Carr started the program at the end of August according The Berkshire Eagle.  Many customers rounded up their Carr purchases to the nearest dollar.  Carr Hardware matched the donation total by 100%.

The PPE was delivered to North Adams Public Schools, Lee Public Schools, as well as Pittsfield Public Schools.  The protective equipment included masks, sanitizer, and commercial disinfectant sprayers.

North Adams Superintendent Barbra Malkas was quoted from a news release “ "We are so thankful to our community partners at Carr Hardware for supporting our schools.”

The President of Carr hardware Bart Raser said in press release according to the Eagle…“We are a community business that believes in giving back, it’s just part of our core culture. Our kids and schools need our help more than ever and school safety is paramount. We are thrilled to be in a position to do our part and appreciative of the generosity of our customers who supported our teachers and our students.”

Carr Hardware is a local favorite with locations in Pittsfield, North Adams, Great Barrington, Lee, and Lenox.

A lot of credit and gratitude is also owed to those customers willing to donate money to this worthwhile cause.
