Cone With a Cop will return later on this month with a fun event for all ages, but geared towards Pittsfield youth.

The event will take place Tuesday, Aug. 21 between Noon and 2 p.m. at the First Street Common in Pittsfield. There is a big reason why this event gets put together every year and the Pittsfield Police Department implores the community to come on out. Who doesn't like ice cream and good conversation?

"The event was created to help form healthy and positive relationships between Law Enforcement and our city's youth," says Officer Darren Derby. "This event in the past has served close to 500 soft serve ice cream cones to our youth and is well attended."

Assistance for Cone With a Cop, as well as the ice cream, will be provided by Krispy Cones in Lanesborough.

Along with delicious ice cream and meaningful dialog, the event will also include members of the Pittsfield Fire Department and local EMS -- and their emergency vehicles for the youth, and Bryan Slater, to check out.

For more information on the event, you can check out the official Cone With a Cop event page.
