A disabled customer was mugged in the parking lot of Theory Wellness cannabis dispensary in Great Barrington on Friday.  According to an article posted in The Berkshire Eagle, police have one perp in custody and seeking another in the alleged crime.

According to the report, the disabled customer, who uses crutches, was returning to his car after purchasing goods at the dispensary.  The perp pushed the man down, grabbed the product from his hands and jumped into a car and fled.

The wife of the victim was able to give Great Barrington Police the license plate number of the car allegedly involved in the mugging.   New York State Police got involved and later Friday night arrested Shane Adams, a 21-year old from Pine City, New York.  He is facing charges of assault and battery on a disabled person and unarmed robbery.

Adams' partner in crime is still at-large.  According to the Eagle, Great Barrington Police officers Samuel Stolzar and Tim Ullrich, along with New York State Police continue to investigate.

It has not yet been confirmed if this is the same Shane Adams from Pine City, NY arrested on felony charges in 2017.  According to the Star Gazette, in December of 2017, 19-year old Shane Adams of Pine City, New York (who would be 21 today) was indicted by a Chemung County Grand Jury on on three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one charge of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, and one count of second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

The indictment came on the heels of the Elmira Police SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team responding to a report of a gunshot in a building on Broadway in Elmira.  A male told police that the suspect attempted to shoot him following a dispute.  According to the Star Gazette police found a loaded semi-automatic rifle in the building and evidence of a shooting.    .
