Dropkick Murphys Playing Fenway Park this Month with No Crowd
According to the website UltimateClassicRock.com the Boston favorites the Dropkick Murphys will perform a crowd-less concert on the field of Fenway Park and stream it free for all to see.
In a post on the Dropkick Facebook page: "We are gonna be the first band in history to play right on the dirt and grass of the infield diamond - and we will be doing it free - for you, the best fans in the world."
The show will take place on Friday May 29th at 6pm. To take the performance to a whole another level, the Dropkick’s will be joined onstage for a couple of songs by Bruce Springsteen. The Boss will not physically be at Fenway but will through modern technology will be streamed in from a remote location.
The band also wrote: "will have no audience in the stands. That’s another first - no band has ever played a full show in an empty sports stadium! This means you get to take part in this show with your rowdy kids and neighbors right from your own living room or backyard."
Although the ‘Streaming Outta Fenway” is free to stream, the band is asking fans to donate to the Boston Resiliency Fund, Habitat for Humanity and Feeding America.
The Dropkick Murphys have been a Boston favorite for a long time. In 2005 they released the song 'I'm Shipping Up to Boston" that has been a staple for the band performing it live at Fenway Park, in the stands following a Bruins game and countless other Boston events.
