One of the best parts of fall in The Berkshires, isn't the gorgeous scenery, it's not the Greylock Ramble (although that's great) it's not even the beginning of football season. Undoubtedly the best part of fall in The Berkshires, is the Fresh Grass Music Festival at the nation's largest modern art museum, Mass MoCA.  How lucky are we to have this right in our own backyard?!

Mass MoCA  bills the event as an opportunity for enthusiasts to both appreciate and participate. Fresh Grass is a family-friendly festival, brimming with bright talent on four stages, and also in their galleries, brick-lined courtyards, and grassy field. The event is produced in partnership with MASS MoCA, the Fresh Grass Foundation, and No Depression magazine and online publication.

The line up never disappoints blue grass fans, performers from years past include Brandi Carlisle, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dwight Yoakam and Emmylou Harris, just to name a few.

This year's line up just dropped, and is bigger and better than ever before, with MoCA's website hinting at another big announcement coming soon. The Indigo Girls will be headlining with Trampled by Turtles, and the Yonder Mountain String Band. Others include Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Rhiannon Giddens, Steep Canyon Rangers, veteran Fresh Grass performer Alison Brown and local favorites, The Whiskey Treaty Road Show.

Tickets range for $46 to $350, with a variety of passes and camping options.
