North Adams,
As we all know, winter is fast approaching. We are sending out a reminder that the Winter Parking Ban will be effective on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 thru Thursday, April 15th, 2021 in the City of North Adams. The times affected by this parking ban are from 1:00 am to 6:00 am, any day. (See ordinance listed below)

Officers will begin issuing paper warnings to vehicles in violation on Nov 1st, for approximately a week's time. During this time, we would encourage people to explore their options in finding off-street parking if required.
Also, be advised that vehicles parked on sidewalks will not be permitted at any time.

Sec. 13-52
All night parking.
[Ord. of 5-24-1988; Ord. of 9-28-2011; Ord. of 4-23-2019]
No person shall park any vehicle, except in an emergency, on any street or highway for a period of time longer than one hour between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any day. This ban shall be in effect from November 1 to April 15, or at such time that the Mayor declares a weather emergency.

Residents are reminded that between November 1 and March 31 each year there is an overnight parking ban for vehicles on Town roads between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. All illegally parked vehicles will be towed away at the owner's expense.

The overnight parking ban will go into effect Nov. 15.

The town's winter parking ban will be in place from Nov. 15 to March 30, 2021.
The parking ban prohibits on-street parking between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. in winter months.

Any vehicles parked on town streets during these hours is subject to ticketing or towing, particularly during a winter storm.

Overnight parking is permitted in several downtown parking lots, including the Town Hall lot, Railroad Street's upper lot, the Castle Street lot and at the Mason Library. Signs will be installed in these areas indicating that overnight parking is allowed.
