Gov. Baker in line for a Cabinet position in a Biden administration
According to Politico, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker is being vetted by the the team of presidential nominee Joe Biden. Baker is among a number of Republicans that are under consideration to fill Cabinet positions in a Biden administration if he were to be elected in November.
In addition to Baker, Politico is also reporting that other Republicans include; former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Meg Whitman, former Senator Jeff Flake, and former Representative Charlie Dent all being considered for a job in a Biden administration.
Gov Baker recently stated that he will not support Trump. At a news conference yesterday, Baker was quoted in a post by masslive.com...“You’re going to be stuck with me for at least the next two years, anyway. It’s flattering to be considered, but I like the job I have.”
Unlike most Republican Governors, Baker has marched to his own drum and has not been in lock-step with Trump’s position of opening up states as if it was business as usual. Baker called Trump “irresponsible” for not following the advice of public health experts in his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Trump responded in a Tweet by calling Charlie a “RINO” which translated means Republican In Name Only.
