It seems that everybody(well, everybody who likes donuts, anyway) has their favorite donut. I've always been a Boston Cream man, myself. My beautiful granddaughter Isabelle has followed her Papa's lead and also prefers the Boston Cream.

My papa loved the butternut crunch or coconut donuts. Although, later in his life, he most often would reach for a maple frosted. Mom will never say no to a blueberry donut. And my soulmate Tonya, loves the glazed kind, but only if it's Krispy Kreme. Otherwise, it's a toss-up between an old-fashioned or a powdered sugar donut.

However, I will say this right off the bat, if there are cider donuts from Bartlett's Orchard in Richmond anywhere in the vicinity, my family will battle it out for the last one.

In honor of National Donut Day today, National Today did a survey on America's favorite donuts. Here are the Top 10:

Glazed . . . Boston cream . . . chocolate frosted . . . jelly . . . chocolate cake . . . maple . . . blueberry . . . bear claw . . . powdered sugar . . . and pink frosted.

National Today also dug up some fascinating facts and trivia regarding everything donuts. You can find it all right here.

But we'd like to hear from you. Do you have a favorite donut? If you do have a fave, what kind is it? Did your favorite even make it into the top 10? Head to our Facebook page and please tell us about your preferred pick, donut-wise.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my stomach's rumbling. Gotta go find a donut. If I were at the Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter in New Orleans, I'd be diving into some serious beignets right about now...
