Crowds of festive folk showed up Friday evening in Park Square for what many feel, including myself, is one of the kickoffs to the Holiday Season--the lighting of the Christmas tree. Truly a wonder to behold, whether you were one of the several young boys and girls who attended or one of the adults who unleashed their inner child to gaze in awe, or even the Head Holiday Honcho himself and his Seasonal Soulmate, who spent some quality time afterwards with the little ones. Even our mayor showed up.

"It is really a special occasion. This is really what hometown is all about, the coming together to celebrate kindness, giving, and generosity in the holiday season," Mayor Linda Tyer told iBerkshires.

The chorus of Taconic High School warmed hearts(and ears) with Christmas Carols and Patrick's Pub provided some free hot cocoa. Definitely a Hometown Holiday tradition. Now, it's time to get holiday shopping.
