A North Adams man is being held without bail for allegedly barging into a North Adams home, assaulting the woman inside, and threatening her and her family – all over $30 he said was owed to him.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that 23-year-old Jason Simpson was arraigned on several charges last week in the Oct. 10th incident.

According to North Adams Police, he allegedly showed up at the woman’s house and barged in when she opened the door, causing the woman to fall backward and strike her head on a refrigerator. Simpson also is accused of brandishing a knife at the woman and threatening to kill her and her family.
