Man Arrested In Adams For Friday B&E And Saturday Robbery

Thanks to the hard-working members of the Adams Police Department(with assistance from North Adams PD and Mass. State Police), a Friday B&E and Saturday robbery suspect was finally placed in custody Saturday night.

According to a Facebook post from the Adams Police Department, a still unidentified male suspect was arrested Saturday night after an incident of breaking and entering an Adams residence on Friday afternoon and an unarmed robbery of a Howland Avenue gas station on Saturday.

Adams police report that on Friday, April 15, at approximately 3:30 p.m., they had to report to an area near North Summer Street and Lime Street due to reports of a man breaking and entering a residence. The owner of the residence chased after the man.

After police arrived at the scene and searched the area, the suspect was eventually apprehended without incident. The suspect was later released on personal recognizance.

Then, on Saturday, April 16, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Adams police responded to the Howland Avenue Mobil Gas Station for reports of an unarmed robbery. Apparently, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the scene of the crime on foot.

Adams Police, assisted by the North Adams Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police, responded to the scene. The Adams PD's K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a nearby area where he was quickly apprehended by police.

As it turns out, this suspect was the same person responsible for Friday's breaking and entering. As of now, the suspect is still in custody and will remain there until his arraignment Tuesday morning in Northern Berkshire District Court.
