The ping pong balls will be bouncing tonight along with the hopes of lottery players throughout the country hoping to hit on all six numbers to win the nation’s third largest jackpot in the history of the lottery.  The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to $970 million. The largest jackpot in Mega Millions history was $1,537 billion won in October of 2018.  That winning ticket was sold in South Carolina.

Tonight’s jackpot has grown in recent drawings from $750 million to $850 million and now sits at $970 million.  The chance of winning is slim but that won’t keep lottery hopefuls from laying down their hard-earned cash to hit the second largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game. The odds of winning are only 302,575,350 to 1.

Wednesday night the huge $731 million Powerball jackpot was won hitting the 4th largest jackpot in history last night.  The winning ticket was sold at Coney Market in Lonaconing Maryland.  If the winner of the ticket chooses a 1-time payout, they will cash a check for $546.8 million.  If the new millionaire chooses the other option they will receive and estimated $731.1 million over 29 years.  The new Powerball jackpot Saturday night is for $20 million.

Both Powerball and Mega Millions costs $2 per play.  Powerball you choose 5 numbers between 1 and 69 and then choose 1 number as your Powerball with a number range between 1 and 26.  Mega Millions you choose 5 numbers between 1 and 70 and 1 number between 1 and 25 known as the gold Mega Ball.

Good luck!
