New Recycling Campaign Launches In Pittsfield
I think one of my favorite quotes concerning the subject of recycling would be this one:
Save the Earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.
But you don't need to be a chocolate lover to understand that recycling is a great idea. And this week, Pittsfield is launching a new recycling program, "Pittsfield Recycles--The Right Way."
According to a media statement from the City of Pittsfield and the Mayor's Office, the new campaign is aimed at good recycling habits and will run through the early part of August.

The campaign kicked off with a video featuring Commissioner Ricardo Morales, of the city’s Department of Public Services and Utilities:
Through the summer, the initiative will include a series of helpful tips and resources to promote good recycling habits. This information will be available on the City Hall Facebook page.
In addition to social media promotions, the campaign will also feature three billboards throughout the city, a wrap on a BRTA bus, local public service announcements, and postcards, which will be available at local establishments through the summer.
Commissioner Morales made it clear in a statement that he's aware that it's not all bad, but it could definitely be better:
We know that many people in Pittsfield are already recycling. That’s a great thing and we know they do it because they care about our city. However, we know that when recycling is not done properly, it actually contributes to more waste and higher disposal-related costs. With this new campaign, we’ll share with the public various tips showing them how to recycle correctly.
