Noah’s Ark on Standby. When the Berkshires Will See the Sun Again…
The National Weather Service “Flash Flood Watch” remains in effect until 4 pm this afternoon. Rain has been very steady overnight into this morning causing some flooding of roadways in North Adams. Roads are passable but the increased levels of water on State Street have cause some slight issues.
Although we could see the sky brighting today we will be dealing with the treat of additional rain and thunderstorms through the weekend. As far as when will see legitimate sun again in the Berkshires, the NWS reports the big day will be Sunday. However not a full day of sunshine, but partial sun with the treat of more thunderstorms in the afternoon. The NWS long-range forecast does not mention sun again until Wednesday. Rain before 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 76. North wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Patchy fog after 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Light northwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
