Just 50 days into office, Mayor Thomas Bernard had laid out a hopeful vision for the city of North Adams, now almost a year later, his enthusiasm has not waned.

Mayor Benard is scheduled to give his State of the City Address on Tuesday night. The Berkshire Eagle reports that his State of the City address, he will reflect on his first year in the corner office and outline the ways in which he plans to address the challenges that lie ahead.

Bernard has quite a few goals for 2019 including closing the sale on a number of city-owned properties, including the sale of the former Department of Public Works headquarters on Ashland Street to Cumberland Farms.

The Mayor is also looking forward to the city of North Adams first marijuana dispensary coming online, which will offer benefits through taxes, plus complete the move of school department headquarters from Main Street to City Hall.

The speech will be given at 6:30 pm Tuesday in the City Council chambers at City Hall.
