Not A Lot Of Snow In The Berkshires,These Folks Got Slammed
So how great of a driver are you in the midst of a snowstorm? We have snow in the forecast for Friday for us here in the Berkshires, but we seem to deal with driving in snowy weather pretty well. One place that is not dealing with the snowy weather is in Virginia. so if you are going that way don't take I95.
Drivers have been stuck in their vehicles on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg (Which I know the area when I worked in the DC Metro radio) they have gotten snow before but not like this, being stuck in your vehicle for over 10 hours due to traffic problems caused by winter weather on Monday, some even having to spend the night in their cars without food or stable heat in freezing temperatures.
Some people who were stuck spoke with CNN and said they were having to turn on and off their car to save gas but keep warm too. one person was coming to New Hampshire to their vacation home is also at a standstill.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, the Virginia Department of Transportation said the backup was caused by a combination of downed trees and disabled vehicles.
As of 7:30, this morning vehicles are still at a standstill in a 50-mile stretch of the interstate from Prince William County to Caroline County.
So as I look ahead to Friday when we are going to get some snow reportedly right now 4 to 8 inches just remember to drive safely especially on our interstates.
