One Of The Most Traveled Pittsfield Streets Is Getting A Makeover
Many of you who, like me, travel Valentine Road on a frequent basis, know that it's been long overdue for some road work. While I admit that playing Dodge-The-Potholes passes the time quite nicely, it does absolutely nothing for my car's suspension.
You'll be happy to learn that many streets in Pittsfield are getting makeovers in the near future, and Valentine Road is one of them! Yes, the City of Pittsfield's 2021 Street Improvement Project continues!
Starting tomorrow, August 4, and continuing through into next week, the following work will be taking place in Pittsfield:
- Wednesday. Aug. 4: Hawthorne Avenue, Oxford Street, and Brenton Terrace.
- Thursday, Aug. 5: Buel Street and Cadwell Road.
- Friday, Aug. 6: Dexter, Dillon, and Huron streets.
- Monday, Aug. 9: Malcolm Avenue.
- Tuesday, Aug. 10: Valentine Road.
On-street parking is prohibited during this work between the hours of 6 a.m.-6 p.m. each day. Please note the schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
Obviously, you know the drill. While the work is going on for those particular roadways, you may want to alter your travel schedule and take a different route or simply allow yourself some extra time to get to where you're going.
The City of Pittsfield thanks you for your patience during this time.
