The bridge over Onota Lake will be closed to traffic beginning Monday for the start of a total bridge replacement according to the Mass Department of Transportation (DOT).

New England Infrastructure of Hudson is the company that was awarded the project that is expected to be completed early next summer.  The bid for the project came in at over $2.6 million.

During the project traffic will be re-routed to Lakeway Drive north, on to Pecks Road, followed by Valentine Road to Lakeway Drive South.

Mass DOT is urging drivers in the area to reduce their speed and use excess caution when traveling near the work zones.

The work also includes reconstruction of bridge approaches, sidewalk, highway guardrail, pavement marking, loam borrow and seeding, and other incidental work according to the DOT website.
