Onto Next Season…Pats Pick 15th in the NFL Draft…and will play TB and the Bucs Next Season
The Patriots ended their disappointing season yesterday with a win over the Jets at Gillette 28 to 14. The Pats ended their season with a 7–9. Coach Belichick has a lot of work to do in the off season. The biggest decision will be who will be behind center when the season starts up in the fall. Cam Newton is a free agent and is not expected to be offered another contract with the Pats.
Other notable free agents include another Pats QB Brian Hoyer, running backs James White and Rex Burkhead, linemen Joe Thuney and David Andrews, Lawrence Guy and Adams Buttler, and cornerback Jason McCourty to name a few.
The Patriots will have the 15th pick in the first round of the 2021 draft. From there they have 1 pick in the second and third round, 3 picks in the fourth, 1 in the fifth, 2 in the sixth and one in the seventh round. The draft will be held in Cleveland beginning on April 29th.
Next season will also deliver all the hype and anticipation of Tom Brady and the Tamp Bay Buccaneers playing the Patriots in the upcoming season. A specific date has not yet been announced but you can almost be guaranteed the NFL will make sure that game is a Gillette Stadium.
Outside of the 2 games each with AFC East Division teams, the Patriots will also play the Titans, Colts, Texans, Jaguars, Saints, Panthers, Falcons, and if a 17th game is added to the end of the season, that opponent will be the Cowboys.
Of course you will be able to hear all the action of the Patriots 2021 season on AM-1230 WNAW and AM 1420 WBEC.
