The City of Pittsfield has posted a reminder to their Facebook page that today is the last day to register to vote in the November 2nd election.  The City of Pittsfield would like you to know that the Registrar's office at City Hall is open today until 8 pm and are ready to help residents that need assistance in registering.

You can click on this link to the Massachusetts Voter Registration System where you can check your status, register or re-register to vote, update your information such as your address or your party affiliation, update your name if you've recently married, or just simply check your registration information.  It is a simple process that may save you some time or frustration during election day.

As you enter the site it will ask you a number of questions such as "Are you a citizen of the United States of America"..."Are you at least 16 years old"..."Do you have an ID issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles?"  At that point, you enter your first name, middle name (optional), last name, your date of birth, and your 9-character RMV ID number.  You can use a driver's license, learner's permit, or state-issued ID.

Upon checking my Voter Registration Status I was able to view a great deal of information such as my Voting Status which is "Active" to my current party status, information on my precinct, and the location I should go to in order to vote.  Information is also provided on the members of the State government that represent me and a link in which to contact them.

So before the upcoming November 2nd election or any other future election is it a good idea to check in with your local Registrar or simply click on this link to the Massachusetts Voter Registration System to get the full picture of your eligibility status, to change any information you need to, or even register to vote.
