Pittsfield Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Stabbing Attempt of Girlfriend
A 21-year-old Pittsfield woman pleaded not guilty to an assault and battery charge with a dangerous weapon on Tuesday according to an article in the Berkshire Eagle. Anna Marino allegedly tried to stab her girlfriend in the chest and head in an altercation last weekend at their Dover Square apartment on Wahconah Street.
The Berkshire Eagle sighting a report by Pittsfield Police Officer Michael Shilling stated that at some point the knife was broken, and that the victim was struck in the head by the handle of the knife but was never punctured by the blade of the knife.
According to the Berkshire Eagle article, in Central District Court the attorney for the accused Marc Vincelettee, claimed that the fight was escalated by the other woman involved. Judge Jennifer Tyne however granted the prosecution’s request and ordered Marino to be held pending the second hearing on July 13th.
