A man wanted by the Adams Police Department was arrested yesterday afternoon, after a high-speed chase that ended near the Berkshire Mall.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that according to the Pittsfield Police Department, 34-year-old Courtney Cross was taken into custody around 3:40 pm. A news release from the Pittsfield Police Department was asking for the public’s help in locating Cross.

The release said he was in possession of firearms. Cross was taken into custody after a high-speed chase that ended near the former Arizona Pizza Co. restaurant at 660 Cheshire Road.

IBerkshires.com reports that the chase began after a structure fire on East Road that destroyed a single-family home. Cross is apparently a suspect in that fire which is under investigation.
