Police in North Adams are investigating a break-in and sexual assault that was reported at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts over the weekend.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that according to an email from MCLA Police Chief Daniel Colonno that was addressed to campus community members, a man entered an unlocked townhouse on campus at around 3 am on Saturday, and went into an upstairs bedroom, where he fondled the victim. The man ran off when the victim woke up.

MCLA officials said that there is a suspect under investigation, but declined to comment further citing the active criminal investigation.
