Sunny but Cold in the Berkshires this Weekend

After some snow showers today and tonight we’ll see the sun the majority of the time both Saturday and Sunday but it will feel like late January with temperatures struggling to hit the mid 20tys.

Any snow that will fall today will be between late afternoon and early evening with less than an inch accumulation. Saturday mostly sunny with a high of 21 degrees. Sunday we will see more sun in the Berkshires with temps a bit higher peaking around 25 degrees.

The temps this weekend will be in-line with the overall average for the month as January typically delivers the coldest temperatures of the year. The average temp in In Boston is between 22 to 36 degrees. Locally according to weather-us.com, Lanesboro is one of the coldest Massachusetts locations averaging between 10 to 29 degrees in January.

Although we have not had any significant snowfall this year, January is typically the snowiest month of the year with an average of 15 inches statewide. After today’s flurries the long-range forecast for the Berkshires is not calling for any significant snow in our future.
