Not only is Sunday Father’s Day it is also the first day of summer and the longest day of daylight the entire year.  A great reason to celebrate both dad and the official start of months of outdoor fun like Concerts in the Park, time on the lake, the golf course, biking through the Berkshires, climbing Mount Greylock, gardening or anything else that you love to do in the heat of June, July and August in New England.

It should be a nice weekend to celebrate everything dad and the beginning of summer.  Showers and thunderstorms are a possibility every day in the spring and summer in the Berkshires.  A forecast calling for a shower does not typically mean the day will be a wash.  Clouds can roll in along with a quick shower and move out giving way to sunshine a short time later.  So don’t let this weekend’s forecast keep you from planning that BBQ for dad or any other outdoor activities your dad might enjoy over Father’s Day weekend.

According to National Weather Service it looks like Father’s Day (Sunday) will better of the two weekend days.  The forecast is calling for showers with a possible thunderstorm tomorrow and a high of just over 80 degrees.  Sunday is looking good for dad with sun and a high in the in the low to mid 80s.  Below is the long-range Berkshire forecast from the National Weather Service…
