So, I was driving home on Tuesday and I am seeing police cars on Dalton Ave, route 7 also flying with lights on, of course, I was wondering was going on, they were just using their lights, not their sirens. Then we found out what was behind it.
Two larceny suspects are in police custody after a chase through multiple towns here in the Berkshires.
WWLP 22 News reported that North Adams Police Sgt. Albert Zoito told 22News officers were called to Walmart for reports of two suspects attempting to return fraudulent items just before 2 p.m.

One suspect had allegedly returned some of the fraudulent items and was waiting for his accomplice to do the same when the clerk called the police. Sgt. Zoito said the second suspect got “spooked” and left the store.
Nearby police departments were notified to be on the lookout for the suspects’ truck, prompting a search and police chase on Route 8 from Adams into Pittsfield.
It escalated into a car chase through Adams and into Pittsfield. The state police air wing and K-9 unit joined in the search with Pittsfield police. Multiple state police cars descended on the area along the Housatonic River around Elm and East streets in Pittsfield about 4:30 pm.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that Pittsfield Police Chief Michael Wynn said his department supported state police and referred questions to that agency. Adams police also pursued the suspects in a “safe speed” chase for about eight minutes until they crossed into Pittsfield.
After a brief high-speed chase, the suspects ditched the truck, which was a rental, and ran away..one suspect was found hiding under a truck and the other was located hiding in the Housatonic River. A woman state trooper is said to have located the suspects in Pittsfield, and one of them pushed her out the way when she tried to make an arrest.
The State police said they would release additional details when they become available.
